Carpenters 215

Members are trained through a four-year program that leads to journeyman classification. 5,200 hours are required through on-the-job training and 640 hours are spent in the classroom. This combined with technical writing, human relations and labor history classes at Ivy Tech, apprentices will earn an Associates Degree in Applied Science upon completion.

Applications are taken all year, with testing three times per year.

Journeyman upgrade training is ongoing year round and is specially designed to be industry-responsive and meet the contractor’s needs.

This year the local volunteered for United Way, Habitat for Humanity, Labor’s Family Day Picnic and the Union Food Pantry. Other volunteer work included renovations at the Girl Scout Camp in Lafayette and CanalPark in Delphi, Indiana.
