Operators 103

The Operating Engineers have played an important role in bringing our area into the new energy saving innovations with their involvement in the wind farms in Benton and White counties. These phases have included the Fowler Ridge Wind Farm Phase II, Hoosier Wind Farm and the Meadow Lake Wind Farm Phases I & II.

Road work has included State Road 26 East and upgrades on County Road 350 South. The local has also worked at the new St. Elizabeth Regional Health Center in Lafayette.

Local 103 accepts about 50 apprentices each year for its 6,000-hour training program that includes nomenclature, safety, blueprint reading, welding and more. Upgrade journeyman training is also offered on an ongoing basis.

Members of Local 103 generally contribute time to Habitat for Humanity.
